JESSICA Alba‘s husband bought her a necklace to celebrate the arrival of their second child.

The Little Fockers star gave birth to daughter Haven last August and not only did she get a new baby but she also got an expensive piece of jewellery from spouse Cash Warren.

“For my push gift, Cash gave me a really beautiful Hilary Tisch necklace. It’s edgy and really cool,” she said.

The 30-year-old actress sent pulses racing at the glitzy event by donning a kinky PVC dress paired with black heels.

Jessica — who also has a three-year-old daughter Honor Marie with Cash — has been praised for her post-pregnancy figure, with pregnant blonde Jessica Simpson recently admitting the actress is an inspiration to her.

Perhaps one thing that helped the Machete star spring back into shape was her reluctance to go “crazy” with food while she was carrying Haven.

“I didn’t gain as much weight with my second pregnancy, so I think that really made a big difference. I did pre-natal yoga up until the very end. I just made healthier choices. I started working out and not going too crazy, but I did what was safe and what the doctor approved,” she said.

"It was my second pregnancy so I think I just didn't indulge as much," she explains. "It was easier to snap back."

Having a trainer helps too. Alba detailed her least favorite exercise...the burpee.

She added that fitness isn't her priority and stated, "I just feel thankful and blessed that I have two beautiful children. That's my focus."

"Haven's so small and can't even pick up her head but she likes to smile. She's adorable," Alba, 30, recently told Us Weekly. "Honor is just the best big sister. I guess that's a pretty great landmark in itself. She's so great with Haven."

This week, concerned mum Jessica tweeted about an article on her discussing this issue. “Important info everyone should know!!” shared Jessica.The 30-year-old revealed that while she was pregnant with Honor, she kept busy by researching about the toxic chemicals that could harm her baby.

“I was shocked. There are so many toxic chemicals – not just the obvious ones like bleach – in crib mattresses and baby shampoo that are known and proven to be harmful to people’s health,” said Jessica, reports Self.com.

He grabbed the nurse and said: ‘Look at this!’ I was in the middle of pushing and he told me to hold on a minute and not to push! He was wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt and said; ‘Oh I have to get my scrubs on for this!’ The sac burst on its own after she came out. It was a trip.”

Cash, who is well outnumbered in the testosterone department, also mentioned that he rarely gets his ways around the house.

As for how the actress will help daughter Honor Marie deal with baby's arrival she writes, "We talk about how cool it will be to watch her younger sibling grow, and she will show her sibling how to do everything she can. My parents got her this sweet book called Big Sister, which is one of our bedtime books. Oh, and we also tell her that the baby won't be able to play with her Barbies or American Girl dolls. Of course, dropping the baby first would be the first step toward reclaiming her pin-up figure. (Alba, you’ll recall, is currently mega-pregnant with her second child.)

Still, it’s a beyond-svelte Alba who appears on the cover of Lucky’s September issue, and inside, the actress told the magazine how she intends to get back to her famous shape.

“I have a hard time with portion control, so I have 1,200 calorie meals delivered,” the actress told Lucky. “But I also work out, so basically I’m starving. It sucks. I drink a lot of water.”

On the one hand, we appreciate Alba’s openness.

Yes, starvation will make you lose weight (and, you know, eventually die a horrible death). And yes, it sucks.

But Alba doesn’t bother with any shenanigans about how she, like all movie stars, is capable of being magicked back into totally sexy form, all imperfections butterfly-kissed away by kittens and flying ponies.

Because really, it doesn’t sound as though having kids is affecting Alba’s career in the slightest. "No one has it coming," says the protagonist of "The Killer Inside Me," and "That's why no one can see it coming." That nihilistic vision of a meaninglessly vicious universe is the backdrop to Michael Winterbottom's film version of the 1952 pulp novel by Jim Thompson. Casey Affleck chillingly plays deputy sheriff Lou Ford, a quiet, polite young man in a small West Texas town who is a sadist and a psychopath.

In Winterbottom's presentation, Ford is not a split personality or a Jekyll and Hyde character, those favorite movie types. Rather, he is both polite and brutal, gentlemanly and sadistic at the same time. He apologizes when he kills, murmurs endearments as he tortures, and seems totally sincere. Affleck has the boyish good looks and the calm, contained, almost blank quality needed to make his Lou Ford totally plausible.With David Lynch-like faithfulness to detail, Winterbottom creates the idyllic 1950s small town where "everyone thinks they know who you are," as Ford notes in his bland voice-over narration.

There Ford, the educated son of the town doctor, is a protégé of the alcoholic sheriff. Sent out to encourage the local prostitute to move on, he falls into a sadomasochistic love affair with Joyce, played by a kittenish Jessica Alba, who soon suggests they run a con on the town's big shot, Chester Conway (Ned Beatty), whose son is one of her devoted clients. Ford has his own reasons for wanting to punish Chester and he comes up with another plan, one that differs from Joyce‘s in a significant detail.


The convoluted plot, which hinges on old grudges and graft, is hard to follow and often feels contrived, perhaps due to its pulp provenance. Things happen because the writer/director need them to happen, not because human beings in those situations would necessarily do those things. But it's unlikely that anyone will come to see "A Killer Inside Me" for the plot; rather, they'll come — or avoid the film — for the astonishingly depraved violence and misogyny. Its appearance at Sundance in January caused one outraged woman in the audience to attack Winterbottom verbally at the talkback, and there's been a lot of subsequent chatter on the Internet.

This is one of the most woman-hating movies I've ever seen, and the time and attention Winterbottom's camera devotes to the beatings that Ford inflicts on the two women in the film left me feeling numb. It must take a full five minutes for Ford to punch and kick Joyce to her end, and we see every blow. Kate Hudson, who gives a wonderfully realized performance as Ford's trashy but respectable girlfriend Amy, is brutalized in turn.

Ford is a serial killer, but interestingly his male victims are dispatched neatly with a shot to the head or they die off screen. Only the women are tormented in front of the camera, so one has to ask, Why? What's Winterbottom's point? Yes, Ford is a sexual sadist, but that's made clear in those bedroom scenes. What more do we learn about him by watching him brutalize the two women at length? Nothing, which brings this film very close to pornography.

Psychotic thriller The Killer Inside Me, a film based on a 1952 novel of the same name, has already been slammed by critics as a gruesome portrayal of misogyny, Sky News reports.

Winterbottom hit back at critics insisting that he wanted to stay true to the original story of one of the most famous graphic pulp novels of the 1950s. "I thought it was a great book," said Winterbottom, who has tried not to read too many of the inevitable negative comments directed his way.

"Obviously this is a story that involves some violence towards women and I can understand that is shocking. It should be shocking. If you made a film where there's a guy beating up a woman and it was enjoyable that would be wrong."The original novel was written by Jim Thompson whose other works, “The Getaway” and “The Grifters,” have also been adapted into movies.

Winterbottom's take on “The Killer Inside Me” follows a badly-received 1976 adaptation.

Critics have criticized a scene in the new adaptation which features Alba's character getting battered by the murderous Lou Ford, played to chilling effect by Casey Affleck.

"I think it is Casey's performance that makes it seem as uncomfortable as it is," said Winterbottom, who previously aroused controversy with the sexually explicit and far less successful film, “9 Songs.”
